Shipping and Delivery Policy Terms

Tile Center ships flooring and other related items throughout the United States. We will also get involved with exporting into other countries, upon request, and on special cases.

Delivery Time

Once your order is submitted, we need 1 to 3 business days to properly process the order. After the order is processed, it's then picked up by one of our carriers. Standard time in transit is 1 to 5 business days (not including weekends or holidays). This estimated time applies to the contiguous 48 United States. Delivery time will be longer to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada, and anywhere outside the Continental United States. While we try to ship most orders on the same day (for orders placed before 2:00PM EST Mon-Fri), this is not guaranteed since it depends on the volume of orders we are processing ahead of any new order, weather and unexpected situations with the carriers. If part of the order or the entire order is not in stock, we will notify you and advise you of your options. Additional time may be required on samples and/or special orders. Prices and shipping rates are subject to change without notice. From time to time, we may offer free shipping on certain products, different promotions or based on minimum purchase amount. This offer will be clearly shown on the product detail page.

Some products that qualify for parcel service are: grout, cleaners, thinset/mortar, underlayment systems, radiant floor heating systems, tools, product samples and designer kits.

Grout Freeze Warning (October - April)*
  • Bostik grout is susceptible to freezing if left at very low temperatures for extended periods of time.
  • Special Thermal Packaging is used during cold seasons.
  • Signature may be required on delivery.
  • Tile Center reserves the right to delay shipping and delivery based on weather forecast.


Once your order is submitted for a product that does not qualify to be shipped using a parcel service (i.e. UPS), we will contact you with a estimated freight quote that includes the price, transit time and preparation time before we can ship your order out. Please note that by default, we will assume the order will be delivered to a Home and that the truck will require a Lift Gate to unload the products on the "curb side area" of your residence. If you are receiving the order in a business location that has either a loading dock or a forklift, please let us know AFTER you submit your purchase, so we can eliminate the Lift Gate and Residencial charges, you will save money on your shipment charges. Additional time may be required on samples and/or special orders.

Some products that qualify for freight service are: porcelain and ceramic tile, thinset/mortar, underlayment systems, solid hardwood, carpet, padding, floor adhesives.

What are the LTL freight companies’ terms and conditions?

LTL companies can deliver materials to your home, business, or you can pick it up at a designated freight terminal in your area. Usually, the charge for having the order sent to a business or delivered to a freight terminal is slightly less than to a home. If you choose this option, we will notify you as to the terminal location AFTER you make a purchase. We will send you an e-mail listing the terminal phone number and a tracking number. The freight company will contact you prior to the delivery. In any case, you want to confirm delivery date and time, please contact the freight company.

The freight company will usually give you the date of delivery, and a time window, which should be a two to six hour time span. You must have someone at the delivery location to help unload the order. Deliveries are "curb side". The driver will not bring the material into your home. If you are handicapped or have no way of assisting the driver, please call our office and we will explain the extra fee to have the material unloaded.

Whoever is accepting the delivery must inspect it and sign for the order according to the Delivery Checklist we send you. Please make sure to inspect your order at the time of delivery using our detailed checklist. It is very important you or the person authorize to accept the order inspects thoroughly prior to signing the paper work for the driver. You cannot sign the paperwork and let the driver leave until the order has been thoroughly inspected. Any damaged items should be noted on the paperwork in order for us to issue a replacement and for us to be properly reimbursed by the freight company. Please note: the damage referred to is caused by the trucking company and not manufacturer defects.

How to track your LTL order?

Tile Center will provide you with the tracking number and a terminal telephone number as soon as this becomes available to us.

What are the shipping rates for LTL?

Warehouse Pickup:

For our local customers, Tile Center offers free warehouse pickup between 8:00 am to 2:00 pm Mon-Fri.

  • For installation materials, such as grout or tools, customers can pick up within 2 hours.
  • For flooring orders, such as tile, hardwood, carpet or padding, pickup is available within 2-3 days from your order. If your order is over $1000, please bring your drivers license and the credit card used. Your order will NOT be released without these documents.
